Collegedale Church continues construction

Zailin Peña

The Collegedale Church of Seventh-day Adventists is currently under construction as a part of the Arise and Build Community campaign. The main goal of the $9.1 million project is to make more room for Sabbath School classes, especially for the smaller groups that meet on Saturday mornings.

“I foresee changes in the culture and dynamics of our church in our local mission outreach and in how we build strong communities within our larger church and University family,” said Wolf Jedamski, former Church Administrator.

One whole floor of the new building will be a secure children’s wing. The current children’s division has a security problem because the current layout allows anyone to walk in. This new addition will also provide dedicated restrooms, so that a child won’t have to go unattended to another one outside the classroom.

Jedamski said the project is slated to be completed by mid-Feb. 2019.
