“They tell the seers, ‘Stop seeing visions!’ They tell the prophets, ‘Don’t tell us what is right. Tell us nice things. Tell us lies.’” Isaiah 30:10
Have you ever heard of the concept of transplant rejection? This is when a person receives a transplant organ that the body rejects. This is caused by the recipient’s immune system overreacting to this foreign object and trying to destroy the transplanted tissue.
The new transplant was given in order to save their life. By rejecting this help, they will eventually die as a result.
How often do we do the same thing with the spiritual truths that God places in our lives? It’s easy to reject those new truths just as the body would reject a transplant. Both have been placed into the life to save it. But by rejecting either, we will die.
The Bible tells us about the dangers of rejecting new Biblical knowledge. “My people are being destroyed because they don’t know me. Since you priests refuse to know me, I refuse to recognize you as my priests. Since you have forgotten the laws of your God, I will forget to bless your children.” Hosea 4:6
Even if it is hard, even if by accepting new biblical truths, we will be forced us to give up things or change our lives, we should still do it. By trusting God and by choosing to live a life in line with His will He promises to bless us. Psalm 9:10 says, “Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.”
So if you have received new spiritual insight, don’t reject it. Verify it from the Bible, and if its truth then trust God to work that truth in your life. Don’t let your human nature destroy that trust in your life.
Here is a prayer for you- Lord, I want to live a life filled with your truth. Please bless me with truths that I may have and that I may grow in you. Amen.
