On Jan. 21, several Southern students participated in the Chattanooga Women’s March.
The Women’s March on Chattanooga was one of many demonstrations held across the U.S. and around the globe. As was the case in last year’s marches, the primary goals of the Women’s March has been to denounce the behavior of President Trump and to promote women’s empowerment.
This year, several Southern students participated in the Women’s March on Chattanooga.
Shivani Ward, senior psychology major, posted on Instagram saying, “Once again an amazing opportunity to march with my brothers and sisters in Chatt against racism, Trump, facism, etc. It made me so happy to see other Southern students there and have many different people from all walks of life and generations came together in support of women, black lives, the LGBT community, ****hole countries (Everyone! This is what democracy looks
like!!!)”
